Things I Want to Remember

Every day they do or say something new that I always tell myself I need to remember. Things that others might not think are as funny or as special as I do, but they are pieces of what make up my children. So, recent things I want to remember are....

That Skyler has officially taught Sadie how to say 'No'. She's heard it a zillion times from everyone as she grabs for things she shouldn't, but she ran away from Skyler saying, "no no no!" It's cute now, I realize it won't be cute for very long.

That Sadie thinks it is a ton of fun to dump Madison's water dish all over multiple times a day. She has even chosen to sit in it a few times. She will literally get a look in her eyes and we race to get there first...she seems to win every time! Yes, I pick it up, but hey, it's more important that my dog does not dehydrate. Lucky for Madison, all this attention to her bowls meant that I remembered to run them through the dishwasher:)

I don't want to forget the way I walked into Skyler's room today and Sadie had sat on his lap in the bean bag chair to read a book.

Or that Sadie's new thing is to grab my hand (when Skyler is unavailable) and walk around the house holding it...it makes me melt every time.

Or that the other day I was going to the bathroom (TMI, I realize) but all of a sudden Skyler rounds the corner, pulls out his step stool, sits, and asks me if I want to rhyme. I asked what he was doing and he said keeping me company. This is what I do for him, and I almost started crying when he did it for me.

That Skyler, who is so curious about the human body and knows more about the organs than I do, asked me what bone was in his penis. I told him to ask his dad....

That we were snowed in and stuck in the house. I was dreading it wondering what we would do all day. But, Skyler kept telling me how special of a day this was and how much fun he was having.

That when I say 'I love you so much' to Skyler, he say 'I love you so much too.' Selfish to love hearing this, I know that, but I think I deserve to be a little selfish in this way:)

That Sadie calls for me by now saying, "Mommy" instead of "mama" with the cutest inflection.

That I feel extremely lucky that these are my children....
