Halloween!!!!

Ohhh...Halloween. Skyler has been looking forward to Halloween for a long time. So today was a tough day of waiting for him. I had told him we would be going trick-or-treating after dinner. So he kept asking for dinner. all day. But he made it! So, to sum it up, after dinner Skyler was bouncing off of the walls with excitement, literally. Sadie was getting tired and was mad I wasn't walking around with her because I was busy getting everything ready while Michael cleaned up dinner. So she cried a lot....I thought I was going to explode! We had to meet our friends at a certain time and it was a big push. But, after a slight break down on my part:), we made it with only a little psychological damage to the kids. And Skyler loved it:) Michael and I laughed because he always complains about walking or going up stairs...but not tonight! He booked up those steep steps of a zillion houses with candy on his mind. So cute and very happy. We finally had to drag him home after Sadie was a popsicle and Michael and I were just done fighting the crowds of the two million kids that live in our neighborhood....I don't exaggerate on that....literally fighting the crowds. Our 300 lollipops were gone by 7:30! Crazy....

This was Sadie before trick-or-treating....lost my mind! But she looked cute:)
Right before we headed out....all was quiet:)
Skyler and Jackson looked so cute ringing the doorbells.

A trooper...cold and tired, but hung in there.

Another Sunday

Another Sunday:) It was actually a really nice and quiet day for the most part. We didn't get in the car once which was such a relief. We spend the entire week running everywhere, so it was great to just stay in comfy clothes and hang out all day. Skyler was a little bit antsy staying home, but it's good for him...especially with winter coming! We did get outside in the afternoon to take care of our sad lawn, and then of course later for trick or treating. Here are some pics from the day!

Skyler looked so cute in his jammies this morning....it helps me remember he is still a little boy.

I never usually put anything in Sadie's hair, but we were playing around this morning and she loved wearing this for a while. I showed her in the mirror and she couldn't stop smiling!
They made each other laugh a lot today :) They are both goofballs!
Michael taught Skyler how to seed the lawn. He did a great job!

Sadie hung out and watched the boys take care of the lawn.

Love this pic...they both look so serious!

Pre-Halloween Celebration

We had a pre-halloween day today! The naval hospital had a big event for kids and families. They encouraged the children to dress up. Of course there were games, candy, and other halloweeny kinds of things. It was fun...Skyler had a good time. Poor Sadie was exhausted and a little confused that everyone was wearing funky things. She didn't get it...maybe next year?! But she looked super cute in her ballerina/princess outfit her Cousin Layne gave to her as a baby gift. And Skyler was the handsomest train conductor there! Here are some pics from today. They aren't great...between lighting and their moods, I took what I could get:)

She loved the sparkles on her shirt.

In Daddy's office getting ready to head to the festivities!

confused:)

I love Sadie's face in this one....she makes this face every time she sees something crazy.
Playing a game that Anitra's daughter was running...
First taste of Halloween!

Haircut!!! Finally:)

I FINALLY was able to get Skyler a haircut. This was something I have needed to do for weeks. The poor guy was looking overgrown and shaggy. He isn't the kind of kid that can pull of that long haired look....it ends up making him look almost sick or really tired. But every day that I had planned to take him, he wanted to go to a playground or a friend's house. Really, what's more important than having fun?! But we finally got that over with at the naval base with only a little crying when we walked in. Otherwise he sat really really still and looks SOOOOO incredibly handsome:)

Playtime with Sadie

Sadie and I get some girl time when Skyler goes to school. It's usually very quiet without him and we definitely miss the energy he brings. But it's also nice to have some one to one time that I can use to really get to know her....and she is so funny! Here are some random pics from our time on Friday that make me smile....

She had used this to pull herself up for the first time!
She was trying to climb on me while I was taking her picture....
She's beautiful....
and silly.... (ignore my hip in this one!)

What a day...I definitely did not earn mother of the year award today. I lost my patience... a lot. And feel badly about it. But Skyler was testing me the entire day. A lot of whining....a lot of questioning....and a lot of seeing how far he could go. But the good thing? Sadie and Skyler bonded today. Sadie was trying to make Skyler feel better when he was upset, and Skyler fully appreciated it and entertained Sadie the best he could. They made each other smile a lot. I hope that will continue throughout their lives and that they will always be there for each other. We ended the day at the playground and then in our yard trying to enjoy one of the last warm days of the year. Unfortunately, Skyler was mourning the fact that Jackson couldn't join us at the playground. At least my mom's recipe was a success:) I'm glad a new day begins tomorrow!

Sadie was a little freaked out by a random dandelion:)
Moving the best she could without actually touching the grass!

I specifically asked Skyler not to get wet...guess what, he was soaked:)

I love this pic....Madison is always watching out for the kids:)

This was right before she ate grass...
Nana's meatballs....success!
Bathtime....Skyler made Sadie laugh so hard she couldn't breathe...I love them....

Sadie's new favorite activity....picking her nose
