Mandarin Park

We had a random afternoon to do a field trip so we chose a little park on the river not far from our house.  It was another old farm that was bought by the city and kept up as a museum.  Interesting and beautiful.  The kids, of course, whined the whole walk, but I know deep down they loved it too:)

Silly girl.

These two are like an old married couple.

It's so hard to get a serious picture of the kid.  I actually caught something that resembles a serious look in between his silliness!

 And he cooperated:)

What's Left?

I'm getting there!  Getting caught up:)  Still have Alligator Farm, pumpkin decorating, and voting.  Stay tuned!

Halloween and a little Airshow

The airshow.  Not exactly what we expected!  The one up in MD was awesome with a lot of exhibits to go with the actual airshow.  This one was all about the planes flying and the kids weren't too into it.  Lots of crying, complaining, etc.  But what we did catch a glimpse of was really cool!

They were excited GOING there!

We ended up at Publix getting ice cream.  That made them smile:)
"Mommy, take my picture!"   I love taking his silly pics.  Keep in mind I am doing this with one hand while I have a screaming 3 year old on my hip.  Fun times!

HALLOWEEN!!!!   Halloween was a bit strange this year because Sadie had a nasty stomach bug the day before.  We weren't sure if we'd make it.  But she made a fast recovery and we were able to join our friends for their birthday party and trick or treating.  Big sigh of relief!  Kids had a great time and looked super cute in their costumes.   Skyler chose to be a red power ranger and all of the boys at the party loved his costume.  Sadie was a princessy tangled kind of girl.  She looked so pretty:)

Skyler had Halloween activities at school that day.  Here he is wearing some of his creations!
No serious pictures in this house.  Here they are!

Fun Run!

Skyler had a school fund raiser that he took very very seriously.  They had the kids a bit brainwashed, but he loved collecting money, earning some prizes, and then running his laps to earn that pledged money.  I am incredibly proud of Skyler...he took it to heart and worked so incredibly hard.  He ran the full 35 laps, hardly stopping.  It was equivalent to over 2 miles.  YEY SKYLER!!!!!!

They had all of the kids run onto the field through a half circle.  So cute.
There he is waiting to start!  I.love.him.
The first lap was a walk and then they took off!
 Go Skyler!!!!

My mom thought of a job for Sadie, so she gave him water after each lap.
And it's over, he was bushed but felt really good about himself.  WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!
They marked each lap every time they went around.  35 Baby!

Fall Festival??

We had awesome fall festivals up in Maryland and NJ, which we apparently didn't appreciate enough.  Now, we love love love living down here in Florida.  It is a lifestyle we love.  But, it's Fall festivals kind of stink!  Perhaps it is because Fall doesn't really begin until November/December?   We found this one festival that Skyler was actually heading to the following week for a field trip and we thought we'd check it out.  Basically?  It was lame.  But, the kids usually find a way to have fun anywhere.  I should learn a thing or two from them:)

Seriously?  They expected the kids to just play?

Tractor ride around a small vegetable garden.  Interesting.
They did have a cute corn maze.  The only problem was that it was 200 degrees out and we were in a field with the sun bearing down on us.  We didn't last long:)

I passed this on the way to the laundry room and had to snag a random shot (sorry about the blur).  I just thought it was super cute.
Love this picture.  Winnie with Sadie in the background in my shoes....
She loves trying on my two pairs of fancy shoes!
First face painting at a birthday party!
They love our neighbors...trying to get Molly to come out and play.

Wow, I am WAYYYY Behind!!!

I am seriously behind on my blog.  I just feel so darn tired at night and right now that's the only time when I can have a little 'quiet' time.  So, I shall attempt to semi catch up!  And then I'll go back and fill in with some things.  This Fall has just kind of been crazy between getting used to school, having fun, and being sick about 95% of the time, no exaggeration.  I had kind of braced myself for a year of sick kiddos because it's  our first year in a new place...it's kind of like the first year of teaching.  I know it will get better, but for now, I'm getting a little tired of fevers, colds, stomach bugs, etc.  ANYWAY, here are some pics from way back in September or October?  Not sure which, but it was a while ago:)

There is a park that I LOVE!  It's beautiful and right on the river.   I was playing with the awesome new camera that my Dad passed down to me and that I looovvveeeee holding in my hands.  Here are some pics from a morning out at the park.  (Right after Sadie was getting over one of her nasty viruses, surprise surprise!)

My parents got the kids new bikes for their birthdays.  Can you believe what a big boy bike he has now?  It's crazy!!!  Now he just needs a little bit of self confidence to go with it:)

She was psyched to get a girly bike instead of getting her brother's hand me down.
